hi Mary

Even I faced a similar problem. My excel workbook was around 6 MB. I used the solution (with lot of code added) given at microsoft help forums.

If you don't want to use any programs, you could:
1. move away some of the sheets into a temporary file.
2. Work with the remaining sheets and remove the auto-scale font checkbox.
3. Also, remove the auto-scale font on the sheets in the temporary file.
4. Bring back the sheets from the temporary file into the original file.

I have encountered a similar error message, but I don't have any charts in my workbook. It is very large, though, about 9 mb. Any ideas for me?
